One of the many benefits of camp is for campers with like diagnoses to be part of a community that understands their “normal”. Many camps provide medical education and empower campers to grow in their independence and understanding of their diagnosis.

At Camp Ailihpomeh, for kids with hemophilia, the program goes beyond fun and games; it empowers campers with essential medical education, fostering their independence and self-confidence. One of the most significant milestones is mastering self-infusion. Imagine the pride and joy of a camper who learns to mix and administer their factor independently—a skill that will serve them for life! To honor this remarkable achievement, campers are presented the coveted “Big Stick” award at the end of each week, celebrating their journey to greater self-sufficiency and resilience.

Campership Drive 2024 is underway! Each year, CJM works hard to raise funds so that campers and families living with chronic medical and physical challenges can have their very own camp experience at no cost.

Over 2,000 campers and families will enter the gates this year. There are 4 weekends of Spring camp remaining and then we will kick off week-long Summer camp season in 46 days!
